Day 1

HASIMARA / NJP / BAGDOGRA –TRANSFER TO JAIGAON

Pick up from Hasimara Railway Station / NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport transfer to Jaigaon . Evening explore Jaigaon Market / Bhutan Gate by own. Overnight at hotel in Jaigaon.

Day 2

TRANSFER TO THIMPHU

Pick up from Hasimara railway station transfer to Thimphu .(Approx 178 kms / 06 hrs) which lies at an elevation of 2300m. Thimphu lies in a beautiful valley, sprawling up a hillside on the west bank of the Thimphu Chhu River and has a total area of about 1,809 sq. kms. Evening at your own leisure. Visitors can enjoy relaxing walk in the valley at evening. Be sure to sink your teeth into momo kopi, steam dumplings filled with finely chopped cabbage, onions, cheese and butter. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 3

THIMPHU FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast go for morning sightseeing – visit the Indigenous hospital where traditional old art of healing is still practiced, Art & Craft school, National Library, Royal goldsmith workshop and Handicraft centers. Have a sumptuous lunch. In the afternoon visit the Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, 15th Century Changangkha monastery, Tashi choo Dzong ,Buddha Point, BBS tower ,Motithang mini zoo to see the rare “Takin” national animal of Bhutan and drive further down with good view of the Thimphu valley. Visit the new Drupthob nunnery temple. Evening at your own leisure. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 4

TRANSFER TO PUNAKHA

After early breakfast check out & transfer to Punkaha via Dochula Pass which is an experience in itself. Situated high among the mountains visit the 108 Bhutanese Stupas, is revered by the people of the land as an emblem of religious sanctity. Notice their architectural beauty and the manner in which they have eathered the four seasons over the years. If the weather decides to cooperate, you can admire the glory of the snow-capped Himalayan Ranges from this vantage point. Drive to Punakha to visit the Punakha Dzong. It is situated near two rivers– the Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River.) Asia has a rich tradition of river personification. Punakha Dzong is one of the largest Dzongs in Bhutan. Take the suspension bridge to arrive at the Dzong. Punakha Dzong was initially called Druk Pungthang or Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness), for many years until the second king of Bhutan assumed power. Punakha Dzong appened to be the seat of the Government for a long time. The booty seized during the various wars with Tibet are preserved at Punakha Dzong. Punakha continues to remain the winter residence of Je-Khenpo, the country’s spiritual leader. King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk convened the National Assembly here in 1952. You’re your lunch & proceed to visit Chimi Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s most famous monasteries. It was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley in 15th century AD. It is dedicated to Drukpa Kinley who is also known as the Divine Madman. The spiritual leader inherited the accolade since he revolted against the principles of orthodox Buddhism.The monastery is also revered as a sanctum of fertility. Couples looking to have a baby from across Bhutan and occasionally from other parts of the world visit the temple to seek blessings. Legend has it that once the religious ceremonies are performed, the couples are blessed with a child. Evening explore the beauty of this silent valley at your own leisure. Day 5

TRANSFER TO PARO

After breakfast transfer to Paro, covering some on way sightseeing. Every turn on the way comes with surprise and scenic view of the mountain and nature. Visit the historic ruins of the Drukgyal Dzong, built in 1647. Also visit Ta Dzong, one of the finest natural museums in South Asia. Paro‟s Main Street features shops on both sides, all crammed with brasswares, silk and cotton scarves, incense sticks, silver filigree jewellery, gho (Bhutanese National Dress for Men) which can be matched with elaborately embroidered boots, kira (wrap-around sarong worn for Bhutanese Women) and prayer flags that one could string across any open space to seek blessings for loved ones and friend. Day 6

CHELE LA PASS EXCURSION

After Breakfast proceed to visit Chelela Pass. Chele la (pass), at an elevation 3,988 meters is considered to be one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. About an hour’s drive along a thickly-forested road, is this Pass-a botanical paradise. The pass provides stunning views of the sacred mountain Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. It is also marked by hundreds of prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Here, visitors can see cascades of wild roses; purple and yellow primulas; and swathes of deep blue iris covering the forest floor. The top of the pass bloom with rhododendrons in a variety of colours-pale pink, deep pink, burnt orange, mauve, white and scarlet. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 7

VISIT TIGER NEST MONASTERY HIKING EXCURSION

After breakfast & drive 12kms north of Paro to visit Taktshang: or “Tiger’s Nest” is one of the most famous places to visit in Bhutan and one of the holiest sites in Bhutan. It is perched on a steep granite cliff at 2950 metres overlooking northern paro valley. The place is especially venerated because of its association with Guru Rimpoche and is believed that more merit is gained if we meditate even for a minute in Tasktshang than many months in other places. The main temple was built in 1692 and the temple was badly damaged by fire several times with the most recent one being in 1998.It will take about 2-3hr to hike to the monastery one way which you need to hike by your own. (You can hire a pony on direct payment basis which will take to certain point – after wards also you need to hike it & it will take approx 1hrs one way). Back to hotel. Leisure. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 8

DROP HASIMARA / NJP / BAGDOGRA

Post breakfast check out & transfer drop Hasimara Railway Station / NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport.
